The notice period for your job is set out in your contract of employment and applies in all cases except:
- for summary dismissal
- where you have the agreement of the Chief Executive to leave early
- where your job involves privileged access to the Union assets / information, in which case you may be released earlier or immediately
Staff resigning from LUSU should provide written notice to the Chief Executive who will sign and forward it to HR. On leaving LUSU you will be required to hand back all Union property, including keys and uniforms. If you wish the Union to provide you with a reference in the future you should seek consent from the person you wish any future employer to approach.
